EekoWorld – EekoWorld is designed to help children between the ages of 6 and 9 learn about the important role they can play in taking care of the earth. EekoWorld (Environmental Education for Kids Online) features an engaging and interactive format that invites children to explore, experiment, and collaborate as they learn about conservation and the environment.

Meet the Greens – Highlights an animated family that teaches kids about reducing their carbon footprint.  The site includes short cartoons and lots of information on how kids and their families can impact the environment.

National Institute of Environmental Health Science – aims to teach kids how the environment has an impact on our health.  

Super Sorter Game – A Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) is where mixed recyclables are sorted.  See if you have the skills to sort all of your materials as they progress down the conveyor belt and send the recyclables on their way to becoming something new.

Middle School Age Kids and Above

The South Central Solid Waste Authority (SCSWA) is the City of Las Cruces and Doña Ana County agency responsible for managing your garbage and recyclables. We manage: •Corralitos Landfill •Amador Avenue Transfer Station •The Recycling Center (Amador Ave.) •Almost 40 Las Cruces Public Schools recycling drop-off sites •8 County sites that accept solid waste (garbage) and recyclables •Provide solid waste service for the City of Sunland Park •Provide solid waste and recycling services for Truth or Consequences The SCSWA provides solid waste management services to south central New Mexico (Las Cruces and Doña County) that include: •Collection, transport, and disposal of waste •Recycling collection services •Waste reduction and recycling education •Cleanup of illegal dump sites © 2021
